Our custom map puzzle brings you even closer to your most meaningful place. For centuries, maps have helped us make sense of the world around us. This unique jigsaw puzzle lets you discover even more about the areas you know well. Your journey starts with a house-shaped center piece and grows, one "ah-ha!" moment at a time, into a 7 1/2 x 5-mile topographic map. Streams and roads, forests and lakes reveal themselves as your 400-piece puzzle takes shape, resulting in a distinctive perspective on the places that mean the most to you. Specify recipient's full U.S. address, including street number and name, city, state, and zip code.
Please note: Personalized items cannot be returned unless damaged or defective. Please check your order carefully; once placed, your order for this item cannot be canceled. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. U.S. postal addresses only.
12 1/4"W x 18 1/2"L completed. Covers a 7 1/2 x 5â€"mile area. Scale: 1:26,000.
Which mapping base is used? We use the USGS base. This is a modern, street-style, topographical map base, which reveals most major roads and names many but not all streets, towns, cities, lakes, streams, and selected points of interest. The mapping also includes contours and a subtle relief shading effect.
How old is the mapping? The USGS mapping we use is taken from 2014, 2015, and 2016 datasets.
How much area will my puzzle cover? The puzzle always covers six miles east to west and four miles north to south. The center will have a house-shaped piece, which is a good place to start!
Will my street be named? Not always. USGS includes more than 7.1 million miles of roads in this dataset. They aim to label as many streets as possible but there isn't space to label every street. There is a balance between naming every street and leaving room to display other local information such as neighborhood names and points of interest.
Why is my jigsaw not centered correctly? We have invested in the latest up-to-date technology to help us center on a full street address with zip code. However, in some rural areas the geocoding engines cannot site center with as much accuracy as is possible with more urban areas; in rare circumstances, your house may be slightly off center. If this happens, all we need is the latitude and longitude of your chosen center point to re-create your puzzle to that exact location.

My Town Map puzzle
This came as a gift and was a wonderful adventure for us as we got to know our small piece of the planet in an entirely new way.
Always a hit!
Have given these as gifts and they are always well received.
I would buy this product againn
The puzzle is awesome. My only negative comment is that it did not come with a reusable bag for the puzzle pieces like the one I got as a gift a few years ago.
Not well thought out.
I ordered two of these. One for myself and one for a friend. I live in the DC metro area and my puzzle turned out great. My friend lives in Chicago (Hyde Park) and the way the oriented it, half if is Lake Michigan. If they had oriented it vertically, it would have been actually worth buying. I don't think I am even going to give it to her. I have contacted Nat Geo store about it twice over the last two weeks, but have yet to receive a reply. I suggest only buying if you live in the middle of a metropolitan area that is not on a coastline, otherwise there is no guarantee that the puzzle will be interesting.
