About Our Globes

National Geographic is proud to partner with U.S. manufacturer Replogle to create globes for home, office, and classroom. Each globe—floor-standing, desktop, or illuminated—has more than 4,000 place names, printed on durable press-craft, plastic-impregnated paper.

Started in the founder’s basement more than 80 years ago at the height of the Depression, Replogle has grown to become the world’s largest manufacturer of fine globes. National Geographic’s award-winning cartography group was founded in 1915 and has helped shape our vision of the world through the art and science of mapmaking.

Each handsome globe comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Questionable Quality

The stand is poorly made. Pre-drilled holes do not align and tolerances between the width of legs and the notches in the top of stand are too sloppy making assembly much more difficult than should have been. The globe has several quality blemishes. The most glaring is there seems to be a dent or crease that I assume was either from a previously returned item or damage during construction. I do not see how this could have happened during shipment. Also, some of the latitude lines have a discontinuity where they intersect some meridian lines. These quality aberrations are unacceptable for an item at this price point. I have photos to backup my observations.

Not satisfied

I got the globe a few days ago. The package (boxes) arrived in perfect condition. However the globe had a dent in it and looked like old or used. This definitely happened before it was packaged. The base parts were fine. Very disappointed.

Excellent, well-made product

Beautiful, well-made stand looks great in my living room. The globe required some construction which I did not expect, and took about an hour to put together. Very sturdy and stable.
