Beautiful globe

I received this as a birthday gift & am very pleased. The graphics on it are easy to see, & it's quite nice when it lights up.

So Disappointed In National Geographic Customer Service

I bought this as a present for my husband. The first globe wouldn't light up unless you hit it hard on the ground. I called and they sent out another globe. This one is so sensitive it goes off anytime the cat even walks on the floor so we called again and asked for a replacement or some help since the battery would die every few days. They told us they would send an adaptor that would make it so that we could turn on the globe light manually. Not as convenient as the 'touch-on' feature but at least we could still use the light feature when necessary without wasting the battery. We never got that adaptor. I called about a month later and they apologized profusely and said they would get the vendor to send an adaptor. We never got it. It's been months now and I know at some point they are going to say the warranty is out. If you read reviews you'll see the light feature has been a problem for many. It's a nice globe but for the hefty price, it should function the way it's supposed to. Steer clear of this one.

Chamberlin Globe

Exactly what I wanted.

Fantastic World Globe

It is a large Globe. Rotates to facilitate to see the Southern Hemisphere. Very easy to read names in the Globe. Gravity allows the globe to normal position, i.e. the inclined axis and North Pole at the top. Light is battery operated, and it turns on by rotating the globe, and turns off by letting it stand still for a couple minutes. Beautiful glossy finish with Surface ups for mountain ranges. The only minornegative thing is that the transition in the Equator is not smooth and when lights are on it is darker. Highly recommended for personal use, trips descriptions or teaching to youngsters.

Excellant product

Nat'l. Geo. needs to beef up there packaging materials. The first shipment came with globe destroyed. Second shipment globe was alright but packaging was still in bad shape.
