National Geographic was a sponsor of the first excavation of the ancient Incan capital, Machu Picchu led by Hiram Bingham in 1911. Bingham was author and photographer for several articles featured in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazine between the years 1912 to 1916 about his amazing discovery. This was the inspiration for this Bingham Chair and Stool created by Palacek and made of turned mahogany and leather, framed with brass rivet accents, luxurious and sturdy enough to accompany every armchair traveler.
