A view of the Taj Mahal reflected along the banks of the Yamuna River in the northern city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. The Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, or ''Jewel of the Palace,'' to fulfill her last wish. She had died giving birth to their 14th child. The emperor chose a superior site along a bend in the river, which gave it the best views from all around. It could also be seen from Shah Jahan's personal palace in Agra Fort further upstream. 20'' x 16''.
