A portrait of a pronghorn on the great plains of Montana. The deer-like pronghorn is a one of a kind animal and is also known as the American antelope, but it is neither deer nor antelope and is not related to the antelope family. Its unique horns are branched like antlers. Living in the open grasslands of Montana and Wyoming, the pronghorn has developed acute survival skills with keen eyesight and the ability to run at high speeds to detract its predators. Pronghorns are the fastest runners in the Americas, reaching up to 60 miles an hour, and, unlike the high-speed sprinting cheetah of Africa, the pronghorn can hold high speeds for hours and sometimes likes to race cars. 16'' x 20''.
