A baby African elephant follows its mother along the water's edge in a lake in Botswana. The African elephant is the largest of all living land animals. They live in cooperative, matriarchal societies and wander the breadths of Africa's great plains in small family groups led by a matriarch who decides when the herd moves on. When danger is close, the adults make a protective circle around the young elephants. 20'' x 16''.
