A mother polar bear will tolerate almost anything from her cubs, including a little laziness: At three months old, this youngster is old enough to walk on its own. Here the two rest comfortably, basking in the Arctic sun. They have left the den where the cub was born and have traveled to the shore of Hudson Bay in Arctic Canada several miles away. There, after months in her den without food, the mother is finally able to hunt seals againand to begin to replenish her body fat. 20'' x 16''.
