A mated pair of red-and-green macaws soar above the upper canopies of the rain forest. These beautiful macaws with their vivid turquoise and scarlet plumage are an example of the thousand or so bird species found in the Orinoco and Amazon Basins in South America. Macaws mate for life and are often found sitting together preening and grooming each other or flying in pairs. They are highly social within their family groups and constantly chat to each other This pair was photographed in Madidi National Park in Bolivia. 20'' x 16''.
