A peaceful and warm look at the tall, elegant giraffe, who roams the Serengeti in Tanzania. Their impeccable vision, both across long ranges and in color, helps them keep a lookout for danger for miles around and has given giraffes the nickname ''the watchtowers of the Serengeti.'' The Romans named them camelopardalis, meaning ''fast-walking camel leopard,'' since they thought them to be a camel who walks like a leopard. The giraffe's markings camouflages them in the acacia trees; each has its own unique spots to distinguish them. 16'' x 20''.
