I bought 10 of these to give as Christmas gifts to my family and friends. I know that everyone has GPS either in their car or phones, especially my nephews. However, I thought a GOOD Atlas, one that has more information about the areas, not just roads would be a good gift. So everyone is getting a National Geographic Atlas and $50 to help with the gas on their next trip. You can't dream of places to go over a GPS.

    National Geographic Road Atlas

This atlas is very uneven in its coverage. Arizona is allocated two pages while the Utah is only given one. Considering the number of National Parks, Monuments, etc, this is very surprising.

Comments about National Geographic Road Atlas:

We've had a NG road atlas since the late 90s. We bought a new one so it would have updated road information. Like the old one, it is stunningly accurate and detailed, including a lot of state and national park info for each state, along with other points of interest. We use this atlas for trip planning, and just because it's pretty to look at.

Keep this in the vehicle all the time, use it whenever we travel. Replaced our old one from 1999(?), still a fantastic resource and FULL of great ideas, locations and attractions.

When we finally get on the road, this will be a very valuable tool for finding our way on roads we have not taken. It is easy to map out our destinations, where we would like to stay, things we would like to see. We purchased this ROAD ATLAS because our last one was probably 25 years old and we surely would have gotten lost ( more than once ). We love this new user friendly atlas.period.
