By the year 2100, many scientists believe that the Earth's average temperature could rise by as much as six degrees Celsius. In a compelling investigation, National Geographic leads a degree-by-degree journey to explore what each risingand criticaldegree could mean for the future of our people and planet.
Through powerful filmmaking and intimate profiles, this special illustrates how global warming has already affected the reefs of Australia, the ice fields of Greenland, and the Amazonian rain forest. With a sobering look at the effects of our world's insatiable appetite for energy, Six Degrees Could Change the World explains what's real, what's still controversial, and how existing technologies and remedies could help dial back the global thermometer.

I found that the information supports what we find in archaeology from past times. I use this information to teach university students about environmental changes that humans can effect.

Comments about Six Degrees Could Change the World DVD:
I wish I could say just watching this makes you a better human, but actions define character.
Do what's easy: climb back in your SUV, eat a cheeseburger, & forget about your grandchildren, because they'll never have either of those luxuries.
It would be so much easier to remain oblivious than take personal accountability & change a few things in our short, sweet lives.
We have no choice but to revolutionize industry & fuel in these next 10 years & break our collective addiction to ancient sunlight, or face mass extinction.
Though it wounds me deeply to see barren wastelands where glaciers used to be, I do not worry much about my beloved planet, she has always weathered change. ...I worry about all the rest of you people, my vast & precious family.
Kindly do the next seven generations a favor: watch this film, then change your lifestyle, before we all become the fossil fuels we consume.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
