Textile arts flourished under the 16th-century Mughal emperor Akbar, who brought weavers from Turkestan to Kashmir, where this double-woven style known as jamavar was a specialty. In the early 19th century, silk jamavar was developed and proved extremely popular with European traders. Our luxurious, packable scarf pays homage to both tradition and innovation.
