“High-dwelling companions of the puffy white clouds” is how a 1946 National Geographic article describes the Andean alpaca, a domesticated animal that has provided wool to Quechua Indians for thousands of years. Alpaca wool is warm, lightweight, and easily sheds rain and snow, making it an ideal fiber for the windswept Andes. This alpaca-blend cardigan features patterns inspired by the embroidered hems of Peruvian women’s polleras (ankle-length skirts) and llicllas (woven shawls and carrying cloths). Single-button closure. Fine-gauge alpaca blend.
Made in Peru. 40% alpaca, 30% sheep's-wool, 30% acrylic. Women’s sizes S (4–6), M (8–10), L (12–14), XL (16).
Hand-wash or dry clean.

This is a beautiful sweater. The colors are striking and the fit is great, even for my longer than average arms and torso. I love high quality alpaca, and the fabric does not disappoint.

Comments about Peruvian Fuchsia Flyaway Cardigan:
This is the second sweater that I have purchased from NG. My original sweater is a prize. A joy to wear and never fails to get compliments. This sweater was purchased as a gift for my daughter. It totally exceeded my expectations. Colors are gorgeous, styling and quality is amazing. Just sorry that I didn't buy one for myself.

Comments about Peruvian Fuchsia Flyaway Cardigan:
I wasn't sure if I could find the right cami to wear under the sweater to make it look as pictured, but I did and it looks great! As long as you have the right cami/top under the cardigan, this is a GREAT sweater. I just bought it in blue!
