Aguayo is the Aymara Indian word for all-purpose woven textiles that function as shawls, carriers, and blankets. Women in the indigenous communities of the Andes still weave for their own families, but now they also create textiles to be used by other craftspeople. Here, leather artisans combine strips of handwoven aguayos and dark brown leather to create a soft handbag. Large inner zip pocket and two patch pockets. Zip closure. Dark khaki cotton-blend lining.
