India's 17th-century Mughal rulers were great lovers of pearls, jewels, and gemstones. The rulers of Hyderabad were especially known for their love of pearls of all sizes. Portraits from that era show men and women alike decked in elaborate jewelry from head to toe. Our simplified version of a Mughal pearl necklace is inspired by those portraits, called miniatures. Handcrafted in Jaipur, it features pink and white pearls along with delicate faceted garnet, amethyst, and carnelian.
The beads are smaller than pictured, but it has a delicate look. The length can be adjusted by hooking it the catch between beads. A delicate Bohemian look. it is asymmetric and even more so if worn shorter
