The A. E. Williams family of Birmingham, England, has been producing fine metalware since 1779. This handsome pair of cufflinks feature a classic Celtic knot pattern. By the 8th century, Celtic monks were incorporating intricate knot work designs into the pages of their illuminated manuscripts of the Christian gospels. So the design, although known as Celtic, is actually Irish, brought by Christian monks who came to convert the pagan Celts. The cufflinks are cast-pewter and arrive in a wooden presentation box with the knot work design on the top.
Handcrafted in Birmingham, England. 3/4" diam.; 1"L.
