Comments about National Geographic Walkabout Rucksack:

I have the small version of this pack.

It holds my gear, DSLR (Canon 40D for size comparison) with a short lens attached, zoom telephoto, and a shorter lens. Plenty of room is left for cables, flash, etc... in the lower portion but if you want to add a small prime in addition below these can go into the upper portion. Don't know if the computer slot will work for a 15"-14" laptop but definitely a 13" will.

I've had this pack since 2009. It's been in rain, sleet, snow, mud and desert sand; dropped by a flight attendant getting it out of the overhead bin; accidently kicked/tripped over by someone not watching where they were going; my gear stayed safe. Love the fact it does not look like a photography backpack.

Only gripe would there is no sleeve to slide it over the handle of a suitcase, I sometimes wish I it had more room in the upper portion of the bag, and it is a bit expensive compared to other bags of its size; but I reconciled parting with the extra cash for supporting the unsurpassed quality of all National Geographic does from it's magazine to its maps and peice of mind that my gear is safe.

Bottom line is the bag does what it supposed to do. You can carry your gear safely, comfortably with quick access and no nonsense.

Comments about National Geographic Walkabout Rucksack:

I got my NGW 5070 back in 2009 and still I pack my gears in it. It came as a pack-it-all solution for my photography life. I pack my camera, Telephoto lens (Canon EF 100-400 F/4.5-5.6 IS USM), Wide lens, Flash, Chargers, Laptop and my Monopod and few more accessories in addition; everything seats well in it. Apart from a few minor problems like, a higher price, thin padding (when compared to others) I found it really helpful and a durable gear that I can recommend to my friends or any other enthusiast.
