Comments about 142 South San Juan/Del Norte Trail Map:

Bought this map in a local sporting goods store. Walked all over the south san juan area and found the map to be all correct. Loved it. Small price to pay for the comfort of always knowing where your at.

Comments about 142 South San Juan/Del Norte Trail Map:

This is my 11th TI map and the first to contain an error not attributable to re-route. The Lake Fork Trail, #716 from Lake Fork TH to Big Lake, is shown as a motorized trail on the North side of the Lake Fork of the Conejos river; this is, and always was, incorrect. The eastern end of the trail, near the private property, is single track , hiker only trail. It intersects a jeep road from the private property and continues to Rock Lake. At Rock Lake there is a fork in the trail where the jeep road crosses the stream to the south side and continues to Big Lake( not shown at all on the map). The north fork of the trail, (shown on the map from Rock Lake to Big Lake) is hiker only single track. Additionally, the west end of trail 715, where it is supposed to intersect FS road 100 is just barely visible and passable only by a tracked vehicle. There is no trace of the other hiking trail crossing FS100 or 105. These errors may very well be due to lack of maintenance or closure by the USFS not an error on the part of T.I. Other points I checked, i.e. The Bear Lake trail #721, were exactly correct. For me, one significant error casts doubt on the entire map.
