Comments about 814 Big Sur/Ventana Wilderness - Los Padres National Forest Trail Map:
The new NG Big Sur & Ventana Wilderness is newly updated with local, on-the-ground knowledge. It is an excellent first stop when planning an outing on the central coast as it covers the Monterey Peninsula, Pinnacle National Park, Big Sur Coast, and all points between. That said, no small-scale map can substitute for USGS quadrangle maps during real-time backcountry travel. Nevertheless, get this map for trip planning & bring it along to marvel at the landscape from the top of your favorite peak- you won't be disappointed.
