        Comments about TOPO! Idaho:

I usrd the previous version for participants in a National Mycological Foray in Idaho, Sept. 2008. My version will not run on Windows 7 platform. Having spent 20+ years hiking and backpacking in the Idaho Primative Area I value Topo maps. As Foray Chairperson for Southern Idaho Mycological Association, I found this program extremely valuable and the version I have no longer will run on my computer. I hope the Windows 7 version comes out soon.

            Comments about TOPO! Idaho:

I have TOPO state series for Montana & Wyoming. I'm planning a backpacking trip in Idaho and need the maps to do a good job of planning and being prepared so I end up where I want to go.

I've used the TOPO series for 5 or 6 years. I don't head into new territory without info I gather from TOPO to guide me. Most important, I set mile markers in TOPO for my proposed trip including a waypoint for each trail jct/decision point. TOPO interfaces with my GPS, downloading without error. The info is available on USGS paper maps, but it takes a lot more time to determin the Lat/Long and manually inserting the wayponit is copy-error prone.
