I bought 10 of these to give as Christmas gifts to my family and friends. I know that everyone has GPS either in their car or phones, especially my nephews. However, I thought a GOOD Atlas, one that has more information about the areas, not just roads would be a good gift. So everyone is getting a National Geographic Atlas and $50 to help with the gas on their next trip. You can't dream of places to go over a GPS.

National Geographic Road Atlas
This atlas is very uneven in its coverage. Arizona is allocated two pages while the Utah is only given one. Considering the number of National Parks, Monuments, etc, this is very surprising.

Handy, spiral bound, good info, looks like a reprint of an older atlas I have but no credit given for which one. I understood it to be a 2012 edition but there's no date anywhere on or in it.

Have not traveled w/ it yet, but wouldn't leave home without it. Originally, bought this as a gift, but could not give it away.
Great idea to focus on where to go and what to see, so it's a travel guide and an atlas. Definitely would recommend it.

Comments about National Geographic Road Atlas:
The maps are good, but the book as a whole is too large and bulky/flimsy too hold. It would be better as a hard back and smaller size.

Comments about National Geographic Road Atlas:
This is a great atlas. I have overused it and will need a new one. I have taken it on many trips and will continue to do so. It has proven handy from Alaska to Arizona and beyond. It has just the right amount of detail about some of the National Parks.
