Yearly DVD of NG Magazine
Pros
- Saves space
Cons
Best Uses
This is a great way to have and enjoy the magazine. The print copies are nice but I don't have room to keep them. I have the complete DVD set from 1888 and I add to it every year as the new DVD's come out.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The latest update to a superb product
This was an update to the original set. I purchased it for a friend of mine who is a high school educator teaching history. As we all know, schools everywhere are cash strapped. This was a most welcome classroom tool and is used almost daily. Please let me know when the 2011 update becomes available.

Good update, difficult to install
It's a good product (idea) worth buying and adding to your collection, but software quality is bad and not at all user friendly when it comes to integrating with older edition and copying them to a hard drive. Still figuring it out!

Another Quality upgrade
Pros
- Easy To Install
- Quality content
Cons
Best Uses
- Great reference material
I received the 2008 Complete National Geographic DVD set as a gift. This 2010 content upgrade DVD was just as easy to install and enjoy as the 2009 upgrade. I was able to access magazine articles in a few short minutes. Looking forward to the 2011 upgrade DVD.

My faith is restored... FANTASTIC! produ
Pros
- Great reading
- Great search functions
- Portable
Cons
- Some software glitches
Best Uses
- General research
I purchased the CNG back in 2009 and later purchased the updates with the 2009 and 2010 issues. I had some difficultly getting the the 2010 issues to show up in the CNG front-end after downloading, but tech support helped me out. It took about three emails and 48-hours, but everything is running smoothly. As long as I can keep adding new subscription years, this is going to be a great product that I will constantly refer back to for both business (I travel a lot) and pleasure (sometimes I get to enjoy the travel).

Not Impressed
Pros
- Convert to PDF
- Download DVDs to HD
- Print articles or issues
Cons
- Hard to keep up-to-date
Best Uses
- General subject research
I purchased the 2008 version of the CNG. While I'm able to download and view the updates for the 2009 subscription year, I cannot view the downloaded (and purchased!) updates for the 2010 subscription year. I hope NatGeo isn't going to completely rewrite the software every couple of years so that I have to periodically repurchased the entire program, but I believe that is what's happening.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
