Not adequate

We received this as a gift for my grand daughter to use in homeschooling. We are not happy with it because it is hard to focus and does not remain in focus. It is cheeply made and is not something we can use to progress her education. Also, the information on "How to use a microscope" is minimal. It should be clearly advertised as only a toy and not meant for educational or scientific use.

Best Uses

We were very excited to receive this for our 8 yr. old daughter. The kit itself is very good and has some interesting slides and activities. However, the microscope does not stay in focus, the sliding tray is wobbly and extremely difficult to use. I am dissapointed that Nat'l Geographic would go so cheap with the microscope. The reason we bought it was for an expectation of quality. Unfortunately, we'll be sending it back.
