Two-thousand years ago, the aqua-hued glass fragments in this unique jewelry were part of a vase, jug, or vessel. It may have been a wineglass used to toast a business deal, a temple vessel that held holy oil, a bottle of perfume given to woo a sweetheart. Over the centuries, the broken piecesrecovered from ancient Roman archaeological sites in modern-day Israelbecame textured and colored through exposure to minerals in the earth, and now bear unique traces of their long-ago life. Each piece of Roman glass is framed by a sterling silver bezel and dotted with tiny freshwater pearls.
