The ultimate in reliability, this Casio Pathfinder watch is ideal for travelers and outdoor adventurers. The solar rechargeable battery never needs replacing, and signals from the U.S., U.K., Japanese, and German atomic clocks keep precise time wherever you are on the globe. With digital compass, altimeter, barometer, thermometer, stopwatch, 29 preprogrammed world time zones, and five alarms, it delivers the instant information that travelers need.
Not available for shipment outside of the U.S. and Canada.
In the U.S., the accuracy and speed that your watch and clock will receive signal updates depends on your proximity to the U.S. atomic clock in Fort Collins, CO. This means that the majority of personal atomic clocks and watches will synchronize only within the continental United States, and may not synchronize correctly in Hawaii or Alaska or on continents other than North America. Personal atomic clocks and watches work only in some areas of Canada and Mexico.
Another limitation of home atomic clocks and watches is that they may not receive the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) signal within large buildings containing steel construction. Moving clocks and watches closer to windows in these types of buildings will usually resolve the synchronization problem.
I use this watch every day. I am a firefighter and save lives on the Delaware River. Before I bought this watch, I was on the Delaware River practicing when a very dangerous storm approached. I thought we would have to dump our fireboat at one of the refineries along the Delaware shore. This storm had bad wind, thunder and lighting, and bad waves. On our way back to the boat ramp I was thinking as a safety officer how I could protect myself and my firefighting friends from fast approaching storms that we were not aware. I went home and in the mail I received the National Geographic Catalog in 2008. I looked at the catalog an found the Path Finder Global Atomic Watch since I bought this watch I no longer get stuck in any bad storms in the Delaware River. There is one problem I did have with my first watch. I broke the resin band from wear and tear. Other than that I just bought my second watch and as a safety officer I do recommend this watch to all the boating, camping, hiking and any other outdoors men and women. It may be high in price but no one can put a price on their life.
Was this a gift?:
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
