Our 50mm Field Telescope is a great beginning scope that’s easy to transport outdoors to take advantage of clear night time viewing conditions. With 23–62X magnification, you’ll be able to focus in on significant astronomical features, like the craters and seas of Earth’s moon, Jupiter’s four moons, and Saturn’s rings. The 26mm and 7.9mm Plössl eyepiece offers a 52° field of view. An achromatic refractor eliminates the colored “auras,” or chromatic aberration, around objects that can occur with cheaper lenses.

Includes a sturdy tripod, smooth movement, and a red dot viewfinder—a pointing tool that simply superimposes a red dot where the telescope is pointing to help you pinpoint an object.

For ages 10 and up. 46" long; Scope length when extended is 27 1/2“ long; Stand 22”H, Stand base 51” diameter; Tripod is 30"X30"( extends to a dimension of 30" across); 46"H maximum tripod height. 3.5 lbs.

Comments about National Geographic 50mm Field Telescope:

I bought this model for personal use in my hobby of amateur astronomy. Excellent 50mm telescope model. I could get views of the moon along with Jupiter, the Galilean Moons of Jupiter, along with background stars and nebulae in view rather easily. Although 50mm telescope models are generally more beginner instruments and not terribly powerful this one happens to be rather ideal. I would recommend it to any novice amateur astronomer.

Comments about National Geographic 50mm Field Telescope:

This beautiful telescope was a birthday present for my grandson. It was quickly and easily asssembled and utilitzed. He was thrilled to not only look at the moon but the magnification was so that he could see boulders within craters! He was extremely excited (as was his father) who has now spent quite a bit of time looking up!
