Unsettling transformations are sweeping across the planet, and clue by clue, investigators are discovering ways that seemingly disparate events are connected. Crumbling houses in New Orleans are linked to voracious creatures from southern China. An asthma epidemic in the Caribbean is connected to dust storms in Africa. Erratic behavior of olive baboons in Ghana is linked to human overfishing of the world's oceans.
Strange Days on Planet Earth explores the ways in which human life has affected the planet and how globally connected problems are personally relevant and urgent. It brings into focus the realization that the decisions we make today will affect all life on Earth for years to come. Actor-writer-director Edward Norton hosts six eye-opening episodes, each uncovering explanations behind some of today's most puzzling environmental changes.

Comments about Strange Days on Planet Earth Collection DVD Set:
I teach at an alternative school and have a HUGE collection of DVD's. Some are winners, some not. This set is fantastic -- the students are all enjoying and learning. I'm SHOCKED that Nat Geo has not even listed the episodes or what's on these disks. No wonder nobody has reviewed it.
Disk 1:
INVADERS: non-native populations -- VERY well done
THE ONE DEGREE FACTOR: shows effects of raising temps
Disk 2:
PREDATORS: how the loss of predators in some areas are causing disruptions in ecosystems
TROUBLED WATERS: looks at how pollution and other factors are causing issues with the worlds aquatic populations.
Disk 3:
DANGEROUS CATCH: Overfishing & how it's causing problems.
DIRTY SECRETS: Pollution along the shores of rivers, esturaries, islands & the ocean are linked to chemicals & pollutants
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
