Meet the self-proclaimed Rocket City Rednecks. They’re five "backwoods" guys from the rocket city, Huntsville, Ala., home to NASA's Marshall Flight Center and the birthplace of the U.S. space program. Sure, they love to shoot stuff and drink beer, and one of ‘em lives in a trailer, but with a family tree full of NASA rocket scientists (not to mention their own PhDs and advanced degrees), they aim a little higherlike using homemade moonshine to fuel a rocket!
Combining a little hill-billy ingenuity with advanced engineering and physics to tackle real-world scenarios, this tight-knit group brings their own unique style of southern charm to science and technology.

How our DVDs and DVD-Rs Differ
Customers who purchase programs in the NG DVD-R Library will receive a non-interactive, play only disc. There is no chaptering information on these DVDs, but there are chapter marks approximately every five minutes, which make it easy to fast forward through a program. The DVD-R format provides the digital video and audio quality you expect from all of our DVDs.
NOTE: The NG DVD-R titles are not closed-captioned. We apologize for any inconvenience this limitation may cause.

Comments about Rocket City Rednecks DVD-R:
For a world class organization, your online ordering isnt very good. i live in Canada but i cant get the order delivered to my door. And judging by the online comments these DVDs use a different format for play-back. Im taking a very big risk by having this order shipped to some American friends so that they can get it sent to me in Canada. I sure do hope these dvds will play in my machine.
And fix your online ordering system!

This is one of the better shows around and I always look forward to seeing it. I'd love to see it on a regular DVD as opposed to the finicky DVD-R discs. This show deserves it!

DVDs are unwatchable

Comments about Rocket City Rednecks DVD-R:
I purchased 2 of these DVDs to give as gifts. The show is so great I wanted to share it with others but the DVDs are unwatchable. They skip, stop, and blur in lots of places. I have tried them on several DVD players including a new Blu-Ray that upconverts and each time you couldnt get through the DVD. I was given my money back but what a shame Nat Geo cant come up with a better product.

DVD-R Glitch
Comments about Rocket City Rednecks DVD-R:
Rocket City Rednecks is a very entertaining show and I am looking forward to the next season. However, there is a glitch with the DVD-R play back on the second disc! About 10 minutes into the "Trailer Power" episode the program gets forwarded to the next chapter. So it skips forward too soon! That is what happened on the first copy that I ordered from Nat Geo. Customer Service was kind enough to send me a replacement copy.
But the replacement copy has the same play back glitch! I have even ordered a second copy, but I had to send it back, since it too had the "Trailer Power" forward-to-soon play back glitch.
So that is three different copies with the same play back glitch!
