National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Robert Ballard tackles one of the enduring mysteries of World War IIthe role of a Japanese midget sub in the attack on Pearl Harbor. As he heads out to locate the sub's wreckage, Ballard is intrigued by the possibilities. Was the submarine Pearl Harbor's first casualty? Could it have escaped the U.S. destroyer that fired upon it? And, perhaps most critical, why didn't the sub's presence tip American forces to the approaching attack?
Ballard's quest is only part of the story. Survivors' accounts describe the attack in gripping, horrifying detail, and commentary by esteemed historian Stephen Ambrose sets Pearl Harbor into its historical context. Footage from a remotely operated submersible yields unprecedented glimpses of the U.S.S. Arizona, the downed battleship that still rests in the murky waters of Pearl Harbor.

Comments about Pearl Harbor Legacy of Attack DVDÂ :
I have seen this Documentary before on the National Geographic Channel a while back and enjoyed it so I purchased this DVD for my player. It gives an accurate account of the famous Japanese Attack on WWII and the men along with the ships who lost their lives during the battle. The midget submarine that was suspected to start the Pearl Harbor Attack was sunk by a Navy destroyer. Also there might be some scary underwater scenes of the Arizona Battleship, not recommend for younger viewers but it shows the underwater wreck of the ship and it's leaking fuel and oil beneath the water. Yes, I highly recommend this to anyone or even a historian interested about the subject. Thank You National Geographic.
