Women in the Potosí region of southern Bolivia typically wear shawls called iliqlla, and according to tradition the pattern identifies the wearer's community. The zig-zagging design of this alpaca cardigan is inspired by these woven shawls, as well as the colors of Andean sky over Cerro de Potosí, a mountain that has yielded rich mines of silver ore since the Spanish conquest.
Hand-loomed in La Paz, Bolivia. 100% alpaca. Women’s sizes S (4–6), M (8–10), L (12–14), XL (16–18).
