In the southern Serbian region of Vranje, near Macedonia, women’s folk costume is known for the metallic embroidery called smra that embellishes the short jacket called libada. Those motifs inspire the delicate lace-like openwork on the front of our lightweight pullover sweater. Embroidery adapted from traditional aprons decorates the front, sides, and cuffs, while the collar is outlined with ivory-colored lace.
Made in both Belgrade and Blace, Serbia, using linen that is grown in Hungary and dyed in Bulgaria. 85% linen/15% cotton.
