Artisans in both Belgrade and Blace, Serbia, make our cotton cardigan with allover floral patterns inspired by the embroidered skirts and aprons (called pregace) of Serbian folk costume. It was not uncommon for women in rural villages to wear traditional dress every day as recently as the 1980s.
This was a beautiful sweater and a great weight for summer evenings. But the neckline was huge, as was the waist. It fit through the shoulders, so going down a size wouldn't work. What a shame. I could have really used this if it fit properly.
