Woven Navajo blankets and dark southwestern desert colors are the inspiration for this comfortable wool blend wrap coat. Lightweight and unlined, it’s like wrapping a favorite blanket around you, only better. Single button in the center with a self-belt.
Made in Murray, Utah, of Italian fabric. 25% wool/40% acrylic/30% poly/5% other fibers. Women’s sizes S (4–6), M (8–10), L (12–14), XL (16–18).
This is not as warm as it looks, since it's a wool blend, but it's fine as a third layer if temps aren't much below freezing. I also like to wear it around the house during winter as a second layer, instead of, say, a crewneck sweater.
It looks great with jeans or a skirt. Obviously, it's not dressy, but would probably work fine for casual Fridays in a corporate setting.
Previously, I had purchased the Zuni pattern version of this and loved it so much that when I saw this Navajo pattern one, I had to buy it. My only criticism of the wool blend fabric, based on the length of time I've had my Zuni version, is that the cuffs will eventually pill a little with wear, but it's minor, and doesn't seem to be a problem.
The fit/cut is boxy, not fitted. I happen to like that. It runs large enough that you can order your regular shirt size, and it will still fit comfortably over a turtleneck and loose chamois or corduroy shirt. Basically, it's sized more like a jacket than a sweater, although it can be worn as either.
