The Calico Museum in Ahmadabad houses India’s most important textile collection. The pattern of this silk-modal-blend tunic, called a kurta, is inspired by the museum’s early-19th-century printed fabrics made for trade with Europe. Hand-sewn pearlescent sequins add sparkle to the split V-neck design.
