PreCip rainwear by Marmot offers reliable rain protection for backcountry and urban travelers alike. Both waterproof and breathable, with underarm zips for maximum ventilation, it's perfect for all temperatures and is made to accommodate a fleece or warm base layers underneath. Other weather-resistant features include a full roll-up hood that tucks into the collar when not in use plus a double storm flap with Velcro closure over the zipper. Specially designed sleeves allow a full range of arm motion so your jacket won't ride up and leave your torso exposed when lifting a backpack or grocery bags.
An elastic draw cord at the hem lets you tighten the fit in extreme weather, and the lined chin guard keeps the zipper from scratching you when you're fully zipped in against the rain. An extra bonus are slanted chest pockets that are accessible even while you're wearing a backpack.
Imported. 100% nylon ripstop; 50 denier; 2.8 oz./yard. 1 lb. 1 oz. Men's sizes M (chest 39-41"), L (42-45"), and XL (46-49").
PreCip is a lightweight, waterproof, and breathable nylon. Its major benefit is its barrier technology: A microporous polyurethane coating that has more and smaller pores per square inch than other high-tech rainwear. These holes are small enough to small water vapor molecules pass through, but not bigger raindrops. This means that sweat vapor can escape but weather can't get in. The rainwear is compressible enough to fit into a water bottle, making it perfect for travelers who are trying to pack light.
Machine washable. Marmot recommends using a front-loading washing machine.
