Ottoman sultans called Istanbul’s magnificent Topkapi Palace home for nearly 400 years. It functioned as a small city, with courtyards, living quarters, and mosques to serve a population of up to 4,000. Ottoman wealth was on full display in the Imperial Treasury, which is now a part of the vast palace that is open to the public. The jewel-covered swords, mirrors, and armor in the treasury are the inspiration for this faceted green onyx pendant on a chain of gold vermeil and pyrite beads.
Handcrafted in Istanbul, Turkey. 22-karat-gold-plated sterling silver and pyrite; green onyx. Adjustable 17 1/2–19 1/2", spring ring clasp. Pendant: 1 1/4"L x 1"W.
