In the 16th century, trade flowed freely between the Persian Safavid dynasty and the Indian Mughal Empire. Persian craftspeople joined Mughal-sponsored workshops in the northern Indian city of Jaipur, which remains an artistic center to this day. These sterling silver hoop earrings are studded with delicate faceted garnets in a simplified version of ornate Mughal style.
