Be ready to tackle any adventure with our rugged, lace-up leather boots. The ankle-high style is a tribute to the chukka boots that gained popularity in 1950s Britain after a soldier brought the idea home from World War II. Black with green contrast stitching. Water-resistant full-grain-leather upper with rugged Vibram® soles.
I bought these shoes for travel because they are wearable for both walking / light hiking and around town. What is good is that they seem sturdy enough and have a thick soles for traction, which is good for light hiking and exploring, and they have enough formal appearance wear around town. However, they set off the metal detectors at the airport. So if you have TSA Pre, you need to remove them and use the body-scanners. Not a big deal if you travel only periodically, but very annoying if you fly frequently. Another thing is that the color is much darker than in the photos - midnight black is what the box states. The shoe laces and stitching are blue.
