Craftspeople in Ecuador have made hats from the fibers of the flexible and durable toquilla palm tree for more than 400 years. Despite their origins, they're known as Panama hats because that's the port from which they were shipped to North America and Europe. This structured, pinched-crown Panama hat features a leather band and a fabric liner.
Handwoven in Ecuador. Toquilla palm with leather band and fabric liner.

Beautiful hat, very poor sizing

Comments about Ecuadorian Woven Palm Hat:
This is a beautiful hat, the problem is that it is completely useless for me because it is not one size too big, but at least two. I ordered a small size and it turned out to be at least a large size.
Since it is not possible to get shipping and handling and customs re-reimbursed, this is an expensive mistake.

Outstanding in design and fit

Comments about Ecuadorian Woven Palm Hat:
- The palm hat has been used at dressy outdoor events (already wore three times)
- The hat is great in fit and appearance - it looks very good when wearing
- Since we never own a palm hat before, we are afraid it is too fragile to go on trips or travel. Even though your description stated the hat is made with flexible and durable fibers, we think the material may break and not last when subject to hostile environments.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
