I have three other binocs, and am so glad that I decided to buy these. The lenses are so clear, and they do not tire my arms during a long session because they are lightweight.

Comments about National Geographic 8-x-40 Water-resistant Binoculars:

I purchased to use on short State Park Hikes and Longer National Park Canyon Land Hikes. Should work fine but currently concerned about weight, case and straps quality. A more robust lightweight case possible with belt and carry strap features would add value to this product without adding much cost.

Comments about National Geographic 8-x-40 Water-resistant Binoculars:

I have not been able to attach the strap as the space is too narrow. I'm trying to find a clip to use instead. Otherwise this is a good product. Can see clearly.

Comments about National Geographic 8-x-40 Water-resistant Binoculars:

I just boxed these up to be returned to NG. I ordered two pair and both had water drip stains inside the lens that cannot be wiped away. One pair had a broken cap on the center shaft that covers the threaded end piece. They are heavy, hard ot adjust, and the eye cups are stiff. The rubber protectors on the far side of the lenses fall off easily. The first day we got them we took them on an eagle watching cruise and ended up using the guides' glasses. I definitely would not recommend them to anyone.

Comments about National Geographic 8-x-40 Water-resistant Binoculars:

The binoculars are great. The first pair had to be returned, however, because it was impossible to put on the neck strap. There was no space at all in the slit for the neckband to be put through. You couldn't even see light through the space. The second pair we finally got the neck band on, but it was still extremely difficult and took over an hour of steady work. THAT REALLY NEEDS TO BE FIXED!
