No bird feeder is 100% predator-proof, but this grid-like design is one of the most effective we've tested for keeping aggressive blue jays and wily squirrels at bay. Developed with the British Trust for Ornithology, this feeder's epoxy-coated steel globe lets birds perch safely inside while keeping predators out. The rugged design assures a long life of year-round service. Fill the polycarbonate feeding tube with 14 oz. of sunflower or wild-bird mix.

I am very pleased with this feeder - the birds seem to love it!
It keeps the jays out and protects the small birds from the many hawks who stake out my yard (I have even had a baby Goldfinch roosting in it one night presumably because it felt so safe!)
One downside: it isn't that easy to clean.
All in all, an excellent and well-made product.

It says "keeping wily squirrels at bay" on overview (Nat Geo Shop).
But squirrels in my back yard have no problem to get inside and steal bird seeds! (I took some photos)
Curved side makes it difficult for finches and sparrows to get in.
But the little birds such as chickadee and titmouse can get in easily.

Best Uses

Comments about Safe Haven Bird Feeder:
Don't panic - it took our yard birds at least two weeks to give the new bird feeder a try. I was just about ready to give up thinking that the spaces must be too small. But all of a sudden, there they were, and sometimes there are four or five finches inside at the same time! Attractive, durable, and I'm assuming relatively easy to keep the plastic feed tube clean. Suirrels haven't discovered it yet. It's on the bannister of our deck hanging from a swing-arm style rod. When there's a snowfall, it helps to go out and brush the snow out of the unit.

Comments about Safe Haven Bird Feeder:
The feeder is without a doubt the best but it gets empty too fast and we have to keep refilling. It should be longer in order to contain more then it would be perfect

Expensive, but it works!
Pros
- Durable
- Squirrels CANNOT get in
- Stays Put
Cons
- Rather pricey

Comments about Safe Haven Bird Feeder:
Small birds frequently access this feeder. Large ones, like Blue Jays, cannot get into it, so the food lasts longer. Nice feeder and very durable. One is enough, though, at the price!

Not quite squirrel-proof
Pros
- Durable
- Easy to Clean
- Good Depth
- Good Height
- Stays Put
Cons
Best Uses

Comments about Safe Haven Bird Feeder:
It took squirrels about six months to figure out how to pry off the opening cylinder and get at the seeds inside. In doing so they compromised the chain connected to the opening cylinder. I had to reinforce each of the connecters with fine wire to prevent the squirrels from leveraging the opening cylinder and thus forcing the arms of the connecters to separate and thus freeing the opening cylinder. This problem could be solved by applying a ringed clamp to the base of each connecter and thus preventing the two sides from separating where they meet in the feeder.

Hangs on deck outside our lounge. Great view of all the birds. Needs more weight on bottom as it swings with the wind...and we get a lot of windy days!

dO nott get me WRONG, PLEASE!~!
This heh feeder is really GREAT! But just today, the WICKED gray squirrels figured out HOW to tip this OVER and knock the seeds out! BUGGERS!!
Otherwise, this is the VERY BEST of all of the feeders I have ever had....except for the VERY HIGH price!
I fill this GREAT ITEM 2xs daily, and the GOLDFINSH are NUTTS on the SUNFLOWER SEED, not "Finch food"!!..thanks to YOUR ingenuity!
JIM
MAINE!!
Now the goldfinch are also going to my other 6 feeders. PLUS the SUET !! That is really a shocker to me, eh?

Comments about Safe Haven Bird Feeder:
Squirrels quickly took the top off 'though 3 strips of tape worked. Last inch of feed not acessible. Will need to drill out a screw to get the bottom plate off. Another excelent sparrow feeder. Seeds gone within a day. Too small of a feeder for our area.
