As revealed in our book The Incredible Machine, vocal cords are amazing things. And this voice changer makes them even more astounding with 3 different settings that alter voices to sound like a "robot," "alien," or "space traveler." Watch its workings inside the clear case, and watch jaws drop whenever it's used.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my nephew; received the package, tried it out (packaging is "open" at certain spots so you can test it, which turned out to be a good thing), and it was horrible! All three "voices" sound the same as each other, and you can barely hear them; just sounded like a static-y mess and you can hear the user's voice over that. Not recommended for the price. Will be returning this ASAP and going to the toy store to find something different instead.

My grandchildren love this toy. It is a loud one, but that is okay. The first one broke, but National Geographic quickly replaced it. When my oldest grandson saw the new one.. well it had to be opened quickly.

Comments about Voice Changer:
This was a gift for a grandchild. It is nothing like the description in the catalog. It is such a loud, disgusting toy that the child had to go outside to try and work with it. We kept it at our house because the child's parents would have been very upset with such a toy in their house. I can't believe that National Geographic is still selling it.

Comments about Voice Changer:
I bought this as a gift for my daughter. This was a great disappointment. It simply makes loud noises rather than altering the voice. The audio feedback is so severe that you cannot distinguish any voice from the loud noises coming from this thing. I am surprised that National Geographic offers this. At the very least, it should not be offered at the price that is charged.

Comments about Voice Changer:
The device looks cool and I wanted it to sing christmas songs with a large group of people. You can't tell what anyone is saying when they use it. One "voice" is a loud obnoxious buzz noise that you just talk over. I should have read the reviews before I bought one.

About Me Grandparent
Pros
- Nice color
Cons
- Only worked for 5 minutes
- Voices were not distinct
Best Uses
- Troubleshooting practice
Comments about Voice Changer:
We bought this item as a Christmas gift for the grandchildren. Upon reciept, we began playing with it immediately. The "voices" took some getting use to as they were a little muddled and basically all sounded the same. It did finally turn out to be kind of entertaining, then BOOM...10 minutes later it quit working altogether. I have tried to troubleshoot it, and it looks like the problem is corrosion on the circuit board. If we get another one we wont give [$] for it. Aggravating.
