Celtic Chalice Earrings
The eighth-century Ardagh Chalice in the National Museum of Ireland is one of the most remarkable pieces of Celtic art. It was found in the 1800s by men who were plowing for potatoes. A repoussé design on the chalice, representing a protective shield, is the inspiration for this sterling silver and 18-karat gold jewelry. Handcrafted in Ireland using the lost-wax casting process.

I purchased the earrings to match the necklace my husband gave me on HIS birthday! The medallion is beautiful, has a nice feel, and is something I want to wear everyday as long as I live. However, the clasps used are insufficient. The first day I wore the earrings, I found I was missing one 2 times. (So happy I found it each time). So, I'm making an additional investment with a jeweler replacing the clasps to something more durable. I had the same experienc with the necklace; the chain broke and had to be replaced within the first week.
