During Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, families gather to celebrate with lanterns, fireworks, and candles. In India's rural states, Diwali decorations often incorporate tiny slivers of mirror that cast glittering reflections. Perfect for stocking stuffers or party favors, these compact-size mirrors are crafted in that same sparkling spirit. Rajasthani women gather lac, a resin from trees, and mold it like clay into a disk shape. Before the lac hardens, beads and hand-cut mirrors are pressed into its surface.
Made in India. 2 1/2'' diameter.

Very disappointed in the lack of quality in these mirrors. I would be embarrassed to give any of them to anyone I know. I was hopeful of a nice gift for friends & family, and that won't be possible.

My friends loved this as a favor at my BD party. I told them that at each place setting was a disk with an image of someone who was compassionate and wise and one of my favorite teachers. They turned the disk over to see a mirror!

Comments about Set of Eight Rajasthani Sparkling Pocket Mirrors:
I purchased these to give as part of a holiday gift. They would be great to give as favors to a wedding party. There are some variations in the craftsmanship, which is usually the case with handmade items, but they are all beautiful. Just the right size to throw in a purse or pocket. Definitely a great buy.

Comments about Set of Eight Rajasthani Sparkling Pocket Mirrors:
Everyone needs a pocket mirror and these are perfect. They aren't too big and easily tuck into one of the inside pockets of any of the purses I have. I will actually keep mine in a zippered pouch to protect the mirror. Who needs 7 years of bad luck! You get a set of eight and I split the order with a friend so we each get four of them. I am giving the others to my sisters and my mother. I make them a Christmas basket each year with unique little practical gifts they can use and this is no exception.
