This is the newest CNG to date and is very easy to install. To check for updates you go to go to Preferences and follow the directions as listed. Also check the box for "automatic update". I would recommend this to anyone interested in the happenings of the world from 1888 - 2013. The price is very reasonable for what knowledge you will get in return.

Slow to load load even when installed onto a 1 TB SSD external hard drive, as I was hoping to use on any of my two Apple laptops, but after hours of loading on the SSD only works on the original laptop. when trying to run on the second laptop keeps asking me to insert cd 1 every time I want to run the program. Which is not possible with the new apple with only the one USB C connection as this is being used by the SSD. Even on original laptop slow to load so not fun to use. Once up and loaded works OK. But was hoping that once loaded on SSD external HD would work on any computer that had setup installed.

Comments about The Complete National Geographic DVD-ROMs: 1888-2013 Edition:

When loaded didn't give the EULA to agree which opens the discs up for searching.Contacted Nat Geo tech dept. Waste of space they couldn't advice or top get it working and would only offer refund. Not only that but my original 1888-2000 CD version now doesn't work either since install overwrote it and it will not reinstall. For a technical department they are nothing short of an excuse and do not want to know. They said the disc wasn't faulty since they had tested it. How they tested it when it was over 3000 miles away in the UK is beyond me.

Overall completely dissatisfied and certainly wouldn't recommend.

I bought it to find articles about the Lemon Island Marina in Beaufort, SC because I know that 2 were written between 1990 and 2006. I contacted Nation
Geographic to find the dates and they told me that there is no digital index.
This seemed a good solution. I unfortunately cannot find them and have even gotten help searching. We found some other kinds of interesting local articles, but not what I wanted.

The text is sometimes hard to read unless it's blown up to full screen. The installation of the entire DVD from scratch in Windows 7 is almost impossible unless you do it after restoring Windows to factory default and you haven't connected to internet for the updates. Still you can't get this reference to the world in digital from anywhere else. Hope CNG updates the software to make it more accommodating.
