Titanic was designed by experienced engineers, using some of the most advanced technologies and extensive safety features of the time. She surpassed all her rivals in luxury and opulence. The first-class section had a swimming pool, a gymnasium, a squash court, Turkish bath, electric bath, and a verandah cafe. First-class common rooms were adorned with ornate wood paneling, expensive furniture, and other decorations. She set sail for New York City on April 10, 1912, with 2,223 people on board. Four days into the crossing, at 23:40 on April 14, 1912, and sank at 2:20 the following morning, taking 1,517 lives with her.

Taken on February 23, 1945, it depicts five U.S. Marines and a U.S. Navy corpsman raising the flag on Mount Suribachi on the fifth day of the battle.

Commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic with this framed photograph that shows just why the ship was believed to be unsinkable. As the Titanic waits in dry dock at the Harland and Wolff shipbuilding yard in Belfast, workmen are dwarfed by her three massive propellers. Together they weigh nearly 60 tons; the four-blade, 22-ton center propeller is cast in one piece from manganese bronze. The photograph is framed along with an 1912 wheat penny. Includes a certificate of authenticity.

On Tuesday, April 16, 1912, The New York Times reported the sinking of the White Star luxury liner Titanic, one of the most studied disasters of the 20th century. This vinyl collectors' portfolio includes a miniature, official reproduction of the paper's front page and two genuine U.S. 1912 coins: a wheat penny and a Liberty Head nickel—the last year the Liberty Head nickel was struck for circulation. The Titanic disaster has captured the public’s imagination for a century, and with the centennial of the event in 2012, collectibles and memorabilia are more popular than ever.
