The Inca understood their world as three interconnected parts: hanaq pacha, the world above, ukhu pacha, the realm below, and kay pacha, the world of the here and now. This complex cosmology found simple expression in the image of the chakanathe Inca crossa graceful symbol that represented the entire Inca universe. Inspired by graceful lines of Machu Picchu and the chakana, this beautiful pastel sweater is knit on communal looms using 100% pure superfine alpaca yarn from the Peruvian city of Arequipa.
