Crafted by Indian artisan Pappu, this pillow jazzes up a neutral color scheme, adds texture to a bedding collection or leather couch, and even gives a beachy vibe with its bright teal and turquoise hues. This green and turquoise accent pillow is handwoven by a woman in a desert village in Jodhpur.

Indian Jazz: Handwoven in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. 100% cotton cover with poly insert. 16" square.

Pappu creates the Indian Jazz Pillow as part of the NGO Urmul Marusthali Bunkar Vikas Samiti, which translates to Development Committee of Desert Weavers. In many weaving communities, women assist their husbands but don’t work the looms themselves. UMBVS has begun to change these centuries-old gender roles, and now Pappu is among the many women in more than 170 families across 90 desert villages who have become accomplished weavers. “Now Pappu weaves just as well as I do,” her husband says, and her skills are an important contribution to the family’s economic stability.
