In the remote mountain villages of Nagaland in the far northeast of India, hand-carved wooden bowls like these would have been used to make Naga specialties like kennie nku, a flatbread made from sticky rice, or akhuni, a fermented soybean paste. These vintage kitchen tools can still be appreciated for their rustic charm and the many family meals and village celebrations they’ve contributed to. Each handmade, antique bowl is painted in bright colors, but still bears the scratches and scars that give it character.

Please note: Color options refer to the color of the bowl's inside wall. Choose Green (with slate center and orange exterior), Yellow (with pink center and green exterior), or Orange (with yellow center and blue exterior).

Hand-carved in Nagaland, India. Dimensions vary: Approximately 12 1/2–15" diameter x 2 1/2–4"H.
For decorative use only.
